There are few things worse than a cold toilet seat first thing in the morning. I mean it was hard enough for me to get up, let alone for me to sit on an unrelenting throne of ice for an excruciatingly long few seconds. Cold weather brings about a lot of trials and tribulations, but personally that takes the cake for me.
I hope if you’re in a place that is hellishly cold this week (as most of the U.S. seems to be at the moment) that you’re doing your best to stay warm, stay well and (for the love of GOd) stay inside. When you do have to go out, remember: layering is caring.
It’s playlist day and I’m pretty excited about this week’s mix. There was one song that was an indisputable choice: Elastic Heart by Sia. Although it’s ultra-contemporary music video been plastered all over the pages of the internet, some of you may not have seen it yet. If you’re as intrigued as I was, then a few google searches about what Sia says the song are about will serve you well.*
*Also if you were a shameless watcher of Dance Moms like I was get ready because the infamous Maddie is alongside Shia Labeouf in the video and she absolutely slaaaaaays.
I’m still so mesmerized by the whole thing. I’ll probably watch it again riiight…now. Enjoy!
If I didn’t know it was 2015 before this morning, I do know now that I have experienced the new wave of people at the gym at 5AM. Trying to get an eliptical machine this morning was the closest I’ve ever come to fighting for my life.
Happy first Monday of 2015! May this playlist help get you through your first day back into routine and normalcy.
HOLY SMOKES have things been busy over here on the west coast or what.
Just as fall has been making it’s slow-but-steady appearance here in Seattle, the ever increasing amount of dots on my iphone’s calendar continue to hastily pop up. I have had a jam packed schedule that has been more spontaneous and unpredictable than normal (with the exception of Saturday brunch, because let’s be honest…you can always count on brunch with me) but I’m definitely not complaining. With each new day comes a new adventure, and what better way is there to live than that?
Monday playlist is here and I urge you to blast it on your morning commute. Beat those blues, ya’ll.
I’ve got Europe photos to share and cool places in Seattle to rant about. RLTC is back for fall, babay.
There are a lot of shifts in the midst of happening right now: a shift of season, a shift of city, a shift of job, a shift of social circle, a shift of comfort zone, a shift of burrito joint..
Where there is shift there is change all around and what I’ve learned though all my times of shifting is that it’s best to welcome the shift with open arms and adapt to it. Why be afraid of the new? Because you were comfortable with the old?
New is scary, but it’s far from impossible. Run at it with open arms and see where the wind blows you. Who knows where you’ll end up?
This weeks playlist is here! Enjoy!
I’m not sure how much blogging I’ll get in this week, but hopefully I’ll get at least one more post up before Europe.
Things I learned this weekend that might be helpful to everyone else in the world:
-Running outside is great; running outside when it’s 95 degrees is a great way to feel like you’re living your last moments.
-If you like Pina Coladas, then you’ll love the way you smell for 48 hours after using coconut oil to moisturizer your beach-ready legs.
-According to Instagram, Paddle-boarding is the new black.
-If you’re still anxious to learn how to twerk, pay attention to what your body does next time there’s suddenly wasp flying near you.
-Surprisingly enough, the “World Cup” isn’t a souvenir pint glass that you receive if you successfully visit all of the villages in Epcot.
And the final thing I know after this weekend:
-Listening to this playlist will get you amped
Hope you guys got a little bit of a laugh on this Monday morning!
Mondays are a test of positivity, patience and perseverance. They can take us down winding, frustrating paths we never deemed a possibility, and they can also simply (and ruthlessly) just take us down.
No matter how your Monday was I hope that you were able to push through to the other side. To help you make it through the last few bits of it, I’ve mixed up an old school playlist to kick the bad moods to the curb. Get yourself to a patio with your favorite drink (whether cocktail or coke) and pump up these jams. There is no way you’ll still be having a bad day afterwards, I can almost promise you.
I’ve got so many photos from my camping trip this weekend and news about upcoming travels as well!
